Volunteer Testimony

Jan - Volunteer

I have been a volunteer with the Standing Tall Life Skills program at Wildwood Stables since its inception in 2018. During this time, I have seen many children, both boys and girls of various ages go through this program. Each child has come with a distinct personality, talent, and need. I’ve seen timid, assertive, frightened and brave children. I’ve seen some children grow and blossom in almost every area, and I’ve seen some more hesitant and a little slower to get involved. I have yet to see one child, however, who has not benefited from this program. To hear the laughter and see the smiling face of a child when he trots on a horse for the first time is a moment to remember!  It has been a joy for me to be a part of the Standing Tall Program and to work alongside Michelle Salazar and so many dedicated volunteers.
